Recognised for their exceptional product and local focus, Gilda bakery, based in a beautiful farm building on the Kent Downs, produces quality handmade bread and pastries without unnecessary additives.
The Brief
Jon Warren, founder of the bakery, approached us to create a bespoke identity for the business that reflected Gilda’s guiding ethos and artisan process. Specialists in sourdough and the use of natural yeast, their bread — and all their other signature bakes — are the outcome of patience, and love. Our task was to bring that out across all their brand expressions.
The Solution
We chose to echo the carefully chosen ingredients of Gilda’s product with a minimal graphic direction that carried an inescapably hand-crafted warmth. The identity playfully references the bread making process of employing expert technique to bring out the best from humble ingredients. It is a love letter to the artisanal craft of sourdough bread making.
