Developed by Lendlease, the International Quarter London has already delivered 1,044,100 sqt ft of office space, 333 apartments and 32,290 sq ft of retail at the heart of Stratford.
The Brief
Situated next to the Olympic Park, the development set out with bold ambitions to create the workplace of the future, and required an expressive visual identity and an impactful placemaking programme to match to help it attract the best talent and be positioned to tap into the growing science and tech corridor and East London jobs boom.
The Solution
We renamed the development IQL – a clearer, more memorable title – before devising a modular visual system inspired by the district’s bold architectural forms. Contemporary and playful, each shape within the system can be adapted to express an idea or a behaviour, allowing IQL to manifest physical ‘moments’ on-site, to build anticipation and participation within the community.
A carefully devised brand strategy included taking the new identity into a series of placemaking initiatives.
The district’s bold architectural forms inspired a dynamic and expressive typographic approach.
